10. Should a broken lock be fixed or replaced?

In the general scheme of things, it will be more beneficial to replace a broken lock. This of course depends on the assessment the locksmith will make when initially working with the lock. If the damage is minor and the locksmith is satisfied it can be repaired without impacting on the long-term functionality of the lock, then it will not need replacing. However, if a lock gets damaged, it may create a weakness within the lock which may present issues later down the line if not replaced.
